FOR ONE of the group the wait was over and Dean was finally
reunited with his fiancée before telling all to Davina
about his time in the house.
Dean gained 5% of all winning votes cast, which is 269,489
out of a staggering 5,504,724 votes made so far.
After a long, pregnant pause, Dean's name was announced and
he yelled with joy. Despite coming third, he was clearly thrilled
to be evicted, but Brian was horrified.
Flinging his arms around Dean, Brian wished him well while
Helen declined a big display of affection in case she covered
him in glitter.
Warning Brian and especially Helen to keep calm until it
was their turn, he sauntered out of the house to find his
fiancée, Vanessa, waiting for him. The pair wrapped
themselves around each other and shared a lingering kiss before
Davina managed to drag them back to the studio.
Davina apologised for tearing them apart, before asking Dean
how he felt about being the father figure in the house.
"It was frustrating being with young people sometimes,"
he explained. "Especially after Stuart left. Some of
things they did were quite kiddy, and things like dressing
up as a cowboy I couldn't quite join in."
Dean was also asked about his caginess around giving reasons
for nominations.
"You're put in this house with ten other people, and
you get to know them. So I didn't want to get to that stage
where I was nominating them because they'd done this or that.
I was never going to do that."
Davina surprised Dean with a quick quiz about pop culture
that, after his tuition from Brian and Helen, he passed with
flying colours. He was then presented with a certificate for
his world record-breaking sugar cube tower, and he proudly
showed it to the audience.
But was it all worth it? "Absolutely. It's a real test
of character and an experience. I'll have to think more about
it over the next couple of days, but it was definitely worth
it."
On the remaining two housemates, he said Brian was "very
ego-less," and Helen became "more confident and
less sensitive." When asked who he thought would win,
Dean repeated the odds he'd calculated - Helen at 3-1, and
Brian at 4-1.
It remains to be seen who walks out of the house in second
place - and who is the ultimate winner.
