Day 7 - Stuart and Penny make up, 'Fire' task failed, Bubble
gets a warning <<
At almost 7am on the 7th day in the house, Paul, Penny and Helen
continued the fire watch, the very last shift of the 5-day long
task. Penny was concerned about the previous night's showdown with
Stuart and asked after him. However, when the chunky 'Boss came
out into the garden an hour later, they 'kissed and made up' with
a big hug. So, it was all forgotten-about, but would surely still
be in the minds of the housemates when it came to nomination time?
Just before midday, the group counted down the remaining seconds
to completing the task; they all cheered, glad to see the back of
it. Within the hour though, Big Brother announced that they had,
as expected, failed the task. No reason was given. They consoled
themselves that didn't really fail, as the fire remained alight.
However, someone did acknowledge that they did fail the task as
set by Big Brother. Their shopping budget for the next week would
now be £49.
Following a conversation between Narinder and Penny, where they
agreed that Stuart was a poser, Bubble called everyone together
in order to read a statement from Big Brother. He informed the housemates
that they would be nominating the following day, not the beginning
of the next week as they expected. This came as a bit of a shock
to the group and a discussion ensued about reluctance to 'stab others
in the back' by nominating. Amma re-iterated that it was all part
of the game.
Shortly after, Bubble went to see Big Brother to express his concern
over having to nominate. He didn't like the process of having to
betray a friend and was not at ease with possibly offending someone
by nominating them (not that they would find out until they were
on the outside!) Amma had previously said that she was changing
her mind about people but in a later conversation with Stuart, suggested
that she knew whom she would go for and why. Stuart gave a strong
hint as to which at least one of his nominees would be. Hmm
we wonder who?!
At 6.30pm, Penny went to the diary room to talk to Big Brother
about her argument with Stuart. She said it had affected her and
hinted that it would remain in peoples' memories. In her conversation
which lasted over well over 20 minutes, she stated disappointment
in herself and said she felt 'older' than the rest. With this statement,
she was almost admitting that she didn't really fit in.
A couple of hours later, Bubble went to the diary room to see a
doctor about a foot rash he'd developedt. However after the Doctor
had checked him over and suggested some sandals (Bubble wanted 'cool'
ones though!) the mischievous cockney asked the 'doc to tell him
the England/Mexico 'footy score. He wasn't obliged, but Bubble was
sure some kind of hand signals were given to indicate the score.
He later recounted this to the others however, while he was doing
so he was called back to the diary room and received a 'smack on
the wrists' for discussing matters other than medical ones. The
all-seeing power said firmly, "Big Brother reserves the right
to expel any member of the house." Bubble sheepishly apologised.
At around 10pm, the boys were discussing chat-up lines and predictably
Bubble had a few up his sleeve. He recalled one in particular about
breaking the ice (literally,), which prompted Helen to say, "I'd
probably fall for that one."
After midnight, Amma continued her earlier conversation with Bubble
in which she 'snitched on Paul, saying that he'd also left just
one person tending the fire before Helen had. Outside in the garden
they confronted Paul about it, but Amma didn't accept that he was
unaware of his error. Hearing this conversation whilst talking to
Narinder, Brian said, "It's like watching Jerry Springer!"
