Day 5 - Brian beats the boys at tennis, Helen compromises
the fire task? <<
On the fifth day in the house, Helen got the chance to show off
her hairdressing skills and set about Dean's head with a set of
clippers he'd brought into the house for 'medical reasons.' Standing
in line for a roof chop, Penny pretended that she was 'gonna go
for a funky look, with bits chopped out here and there. Bubble then
said, "What (do) you think we could do with my hair?"
they should have bloody jumped at the chance to sheer off
his dodgy 'barnet!
A little later out in the garden, Helen was cutting Penny's hair
when she dropped the comb straight down between the wooden decking.
Her clumsiness could have lost their only comb forever, but good
old Bubble came to the rescue by fishing it out.
The previous day's short 'calendar' task continued and Amma was
next up for having her photo taken. Paul managed to get what he
thought what a great photo of her striking a pose in the den.
Helen and Elizabeth made a pasta lunch and a little later, Brian
did an amusing mock lap dance for Narinder. Amma, a real lap dancer,
gave tips on how Brian should react if Narinder's hands started
wandering, a reversal of the usual roles. He charged his 'client'
an imaginary 50 'quid for the privilege of having him mince around
in front of her!
Mid-afternoon, after struggling to have a poo (because of her change
in diet,) Narinder went to see Big Brother. She gave the all seeing
power a rundown on how she was getting-on with some of the housemates
and re-iterated her previous concern over certain people getting
her name wrong. Clearly getting pissed off with Helen, she suggested
that there would be confrontation if it continued. She said that
she was bonding well with Brian, warming to Penny, didn't mind Bubble
but thought Paul was boring. She acknowledged that everyone was
being much more themselves at that stage, not just being nice for
the sake of it.
At just after 3pm, Bubble asked Brian to press the diary room 'call'
button for him but when the Irishman did so, Bubble said he didn't
need to go in after all. His schoolboy style prank flustered Brian,
who felt obliged to go and see Big Brother anyway having pressed
the button.
Whilst he was there, akin with Narinder he detailed how it was going,
stating that Narinder could be over-sensitive although they were
getting on great. He also said he was getting on well with Penny
and thought Dean was nice.
A
couple of hours later, while Elizabeth fished an apple out of the
bin and actually ate it (ewww,) Brian, Dean and Bubble played a
kind of tennis out in the garden. Neither of the other two could
beat Brian however, and called for 'heterosexual' reinforcements
by way of Stuart, in order to try and beat the camp contestant and
bring their machismo levels back up to normal! Stuart was successful.
Just.
Just before 7pm, Elizabeth and Helen were on fire watch where 2
people must man the fire at all times. However, Helen got excited
about a dress she wanted to show the boys and ran into the house
to grab the frock. Upon her return, they realised that she'd left
just one person at the fire and it dawned that this could-have failed
the task for the group. Helen suddenly burst into tears and was
consoled by Dean and Elizabeth, who made out that it wasn't her
fault. Which was nice of them. To lie!
Half
an hour later, Penny went to the diary room and told Big Brother
that she was feeling fine about being in the house and admired the
'genuine honesty' of everyone. Later, at the end of their meal,
the housemates started hearing weird noises coming from over the
fence. Initially thinking it was animal, upon straining to hear
they established that it was actually shouting from, "My kids"
as Penny put it; meaning the school children she teaches. Rather
admirably, the whole group went immediately into the house so as
not to compromise the game. Penny visited Big Brother, concerned
that everyone in the house wasn't jeopardised by these events.
As the night wore on, having revealed that he was a bit of a poet,
Bubble said that there was no point in continuing to keep the fire
alight. However, for morale it was agreed that they would persevere,
after all, they might not have failed. Bubble relented in the end
and agreed to back the group's plan to continue the 24/7 fire watch.
