Day 19 - 'Memory' task test, Brian's Birthday bash, Major fireworks erupt!                      <<

Today was the day that the housemates would be tested on their latest task, something they'd bet 40% of their shopping budget on. As the group sat around the sofa area, they were called into the diary room one by one to answer Big Brother's questions about each other. Their answers were broadcast to the others via the plasma screen on the lounge wall.

Everyone was doing well: Bubble displayed particular confidence with the delivery of his answers and even Helen managed to answer a question about legislation, successfully talking about removal of section 28 and decentralisation of the government… not that she knew what it meant! However, when it came to Josh's turn, he messed-up his answer and used the only 'life' they had; no one else could afford to answer a question incorrectly or they'd fail.

The last person to be called in to the diary room was, rather cruelly, Stuart. Although it was just a case of 'alphabetical order,' it was reminiscent of when Vanessa was made to go last during a similar test in Celebrity Big Brother. As with Stuart, the success of the task rested with her, but she had recently blown-up, freaked-out and become very unstable. Stuart must have been in a similar frame of mind but he answered his questions with confidence. The group jumped for joy as Stuart did a little dance upon leaving the diary room. Task successful.

In the afternoon, Big Brother provided an afternoon Birthday party in advance of the evening do. There was 'pink' galore as the cake, serviettes and lemonade all featured the girly colour. Big Brother also provided 10 teddy bears but things turned a bit sordid when prankster Bubble decided to make his teddy hump his leg! It was downhill from there, as birthday boy Brian used the bears to re-enact Paul and Penny's sexual shenanigans.

In the evening, Paul discussed with Helen how he was feeling a little sad and didn't really want to leave the house yet. The group got ready for Brian's 23rd Birthday 'bash and Helen insisted on putting glitter on Stuart's eyelids. Bubble decided to take the piss, even though he himself had a face covered in glitter!

The boys later challenged the girls to a 'lads' style drinking game and by 1.15am, the group had consumed 6 bottled of wine, 4 bottles of champagne and 1 bottle of cider. Out in the Jacuzzi, the boys were light-heartedly picking on Brian and as he went to get out, he got caught up and Josh ended up tearing the Irishman's shorts to shreds by hooking them with his foot. With everyone in high spirits, Brian stood there starkers, swinging the tatters of his shorts around his head while the others belted-out Happy Birthday. It was hilarious.

Stuart manages to offendHalf an hour later however, things had turned sour and the drink was starting to talk. Brian was having a go at Josh when Amma decided to interject. However, Stuart put a stop to it and abruptly said, "It's not your turn to speak." He continued to prevent Amma from speaking and criticised her private life, adding that she was immature. Amma stormed out of the tub and went absolutely ballistic.

It took 5 people to console the lap-dancer while she screamed at the top of her voice, "How dare he say those things to me? " over and over again. She shouted that she wanted him to leave on Friday and used just about the most offensive word possible (it begins with the letter 'c' by the way!) Dean then moved Amma to the den where he and Elizabeth tried to calm her down.

After 20 minutes or so, in walked Stuart wanting to talk about their argument and negate the blame on his part. This upset Amma all over again and when she told him that she didn't want to talk, Stuart didn't get the message. It took Dean to all-but tell the businessman to go away. After Stuart had left the Den, they continued to discuss the 'barny, with Dean suggesting that someone would-have got a punch on the outside. Amma made it clear that she really would have let rip into Stuart if it had occurred outside of the game show, adding, "He's lucky."

All this went-on for over 2 hours and while Amma traded blows with Stuart, Brian verbally laid into Josh. From nowhere, he said that he didn't want to be in the same room as his older role model and would not be moving back to the boys' room when either Stuart or Paul left the house. It seemed unnecessarily harsh and pointless.

At almost 3am, Narinder visited the diary room to talk to Big Brother. She said that the earlier events were terrible and stated that the other housemates were, "Not the kind of people I want to be with." A little later, Naz, Dean, Josh and Brian were discussing the earlier falling out and they deduced that it was all over Brian's own insecurity with his own sexuality and the fact that he was possibly jealous of Josh's experience. Josh was annoyed and perplexed at being shunned by another gay guy and said to Brian, "What... I should be straight now should I?" Despite being ten years older than Brian, he had only recently come to terms with being gay himself.

After Josh had visited Big Brother, Brian followed and admitted that he had been, "An absolute bastard to Josh," and that he regretted it. He didn't know why he was acting that way and put it down to the booze and jealousy over Josh's confidence. He said that he would like to apologise for saying the things he'd said.

Things didn't truly simmer down until around 4.30/5am that morning, when the majority of the contestants were still up. It was an absolutely unmissable and compelling few hours live on the internet which the TV show didn't really convey the complete chaos that erupted.
