Day 11 - Paul 'sleep talks', 1st Nominations announced to
the group <<
On the eleventh day, Paul unwittingly woke the other lads up before
daybreak by loudly gibbering away in his sleep. Everyone was up
by around 10 oclock, but looked a little worse for wear after
the previous nights drinking session, where theyd polished-off
6 bottles of wine.
The shopping was collected from the storeroom and it started to
sink in that theyd ordered the wrong amounts (i.e. too little)
of certain things. There was talk of having to start rationing food
and the paltry amount of supplies their £49 afforded them,
would almost certainly spur the group on to do better in the next
task.
A little later, Helen chatted to Elizabeth and predicted that her
name would be read out when the nominations were announced later
that day. Of course, her hunch was right. In the run-up to Big Brother
putting them out of their misery, Dean played his guitar in the
den and Brian and Narinder practised Janet Jackson dance routines.
At 2.15pm the group sat around the sofas, awaiting the nomination
news from Big Brother. It was Penny and Helen. There was a brief
silence following the announcement, then Brian consoled Penny and
Amma hugged Narinder. It was re-iterated by some of the housemates
that there was no hate involved and that the nomination procedure
was part of the game. Bubble suggested that, A lot of people
would have expected their name to come up.
Later, Helen quietly chatted to Penny about the nominations. When
asked, Amma confirmed that Penny irritated her and in response Helen
said that Narinder, one of her nominations, irritated her. Meanwhile
out in the garden, Narinder, who nominated Helen and Bubble, had
her fingers crossed for Helen being evicted at the end of the week.
Within an hour of the nominations being announced, Penny sat in
the girls room sobbing. In walked Bubble and even though he had
nominated Penny, he quickly consoled her and tried to cheer her
up. This was a genuine gesture that showed great heart from the
cockney housemate; it did not seem hypocritical. Bubble made her
laugh by cheekily saying, At least you got here and
got to meet me!
In the evening, during their pizza and pasta meal prepared by Dean
and Elizabeth, the group made a toast to their relatives on the
outside.
At bedtime, the boys were trying to predict what Paul would talk
about in his sleep again when he suddenly claimed to have seen a
figure behind one of the mirrors in the room. As Brian got up in
the pitch dark to see what Paul was on about, the designer suddenly
lunged at Brian, making him shriek in fright and cracking everyone
up; very funny.
