Second Round Nominations In Detail

The nominations took place a day earlier than they would normally this week, and the process got going before the housemates had even wiped the sleepy dust from their eyes, having been woken by Big Brother at around 9am on Sunday morning.

All eight housemates got to vote, and here's who they chose to nominate and why:

Ben - Ulrika and Coolio
Nominating Ulrika first, Ben said: "I think she's very used to ruling the roost at home, so she's used to dictating and being a little bit bossy," before stating that Ulrika is always on his back about leaving the toilet seat up. About second nominee Coolio, Ben said that he finds him rather sexist at times and is uncomfortable around that sort of talk. Also, Coolio doesn't seem to know how far to take a joke.

Coolio - Ulrika and Michelle
Coolio nominated Ulrika first, stating that he thinks she's used to being in the spotlight and acts like a teacher. "If you don't listen to her, she gets angry," added the rapper. He nominated Michelle next, mainly because she will definitely nominate him, but also because she tries to make him look bad ref: the bullying accusations. "She's trying to de-gloss my shine," concluded the 45-year-old.

La Toya - Ulrika and Michelle
Ulrika was La Toya's first nominee too, for pretty-much the same reasons as Ben and Coolio, because she's too controlling. La Toya reckoned that a lot of the time Ulrika stares at her in a malicious way. Second nominee Michelle was tarred with the same brush – for having the same 'dancing eye' facial expressions as Ulrika – and for being a follower who is in cahoots with Ulrika.

Michelle - Coolio and Tommy
"The world revolves around Coolio," said Michelle of her first nominee, adding that the rapper has a master plan and has befriended the boys purely to avoid nominations. Michelle's second nominee was Tommy, because she finds it a bit weird and contrived that the politician has been using words like 'homie' and 'brother' to fit-in with Coolio. "I feel like he has slowly succumbed to the powers of Coolio and he's lost what he stands for," she concluded.

Terry - Ben and Verne
Terry named Ben as his first nominee, half-joking that the world isn't ready for an 'A1' reunion before saying that Ben's constant singing drives him mad. "You know, like, fingernails down a blackboard?" added Tel', before dubbing Ben 'too perfect'. Acknowledging that it might look a bit two-faced, Terry went ahead and named Verne as his second nominee, mainly because when the little guy had a drink the other day he belittled Terry's constant chat about history etc. And because he has only washed-up once!

Tommy - Ulrika and Michelle
Ulrika received Tommy's first nomination, the Scot saying: "I prefer people to have a bit of collectivism within them and the ability to show a bit of common, human solidarity, and Ulrika hasn't displayed that enough". He nominated Michelle next, having tired of her mood swings, tantrums and tears. "I think she's a bit immature for 29 years of age," added the politician (she's actually 28, but we're splitting hairs there).

Ulrika - Terry and Tommy
"I still think that he's fundamentally a decent guy," began Ulrika about first nominee Terry, going-on to say that her Mancunian peer isn't really interested in what she has to say, before dubbing him self-righteous, a bit chauvinistic and a 'know-it-all'. She nominated Tommy next because during the two dancing tasks he tried to shy-away from taking part. "If you have chosen to put yourself in the light entertainment-slash-showbiz arena, you will be expected to dance," added the Swede.

Verne - Ulrika and Terry
Ulrika received one more nomination from Verne, for being teacher-like and thinking that she's right all the time. The actor said that he found this very wearing and was close to snapping at her. Verne nominated Terry next because he wouldn't allow Coolio to put a bridge into a song during the song-writing task. "It upset me because Coolio is a songwriter and Terry isn't," concluded the Austin Powers star.

So, the tally after the second round of nominations was: Ulrika: 5, Michelle: 3, Coolio, Terry and Tommy: 2, Ben and Verne: 1 each, La Toya: none. It's academic now, but some fans have already noted that if Ulrika had nominated Coolio, he would have been up and most likely out this week.

As a result of the nominations, Ulrika and Michelle will face the 'surprise' eviction this week.
