STARSTRUCK CLAIRE

Breaking the tedium of the final hour, Lenny Henry and Zoe Ball had quick words with Claire and Jack. “I’ve got a couple of people to speak to you,” boomed Davina’s voice over the tannoy. Jack smiled knowingly, whilst Claire looked genuinely surprised and asked, “Who’s that?” “Hi Jack, it’s Lenny,” rumbled a voice from the outside world. “Oh Lenny, what do you want?” grumbled Jack, slipping back into his grumpy stage persona. “You alright, man?” enquired a buoyant Lenny. “Yeah, I’m alright, how are you?” replied Jack. Lenny then joked that Jack was going to have to spend another week inside the house as the show was going so well. Claire looked bemused. “Is that Lenny Henry?” she enquired, not realising her innocent query would be broadcast to a massive audience. The resulting laughter from the audience was deafening. Zoe then came on the loudspeakers, saying “Hello, this is Zoe - Zoe Ball. Jack, do you realise you’ve become a sex symbol?” Jack appeared unperturbed by this suggestion. “What do you mean, become?” he chuckled. The crowd shrieked. The intercom chat came to an end, and a glowing Claire turned to Jack: “God, I get all starstruck, that’s fantastic!”
