Ooh, Pick That Name Up Anne!

While Les has taken the role of 'chief celebrity name-dropper' over the past few days, Anne indulged in a bit of political name-dropping herself today.

Sat on the sofa chatting and reminiscing about the old days, the ex-breakfast TV presenter first told how Prime Minister Tony Blair used to appear on her show regularly.

About the young back-bencher, she said, "He was very nice but I would never have said he would become prime minister," before adding, "Clearly he had something, but I didn't see it."

Anne stated that she was happy to have Tony heading the Government and to emphasise her respect for the father-of-four, she said, "I look up to him not so much as a politician, but as upholding family values."

The conversation then turned to the former Liberal Democrat Leader, Paddy Ashdown.

About him, Anne was much less formal and seemed to respect the ex-Royal Marine and SBS veteran for some rather different reasons...
