Who'll Make The Most Money From BB9?
'Mr Paparazzi' Darryn Lyons has given his opinion on the
earning potential of some of the Big Brother 9 housemates.
The spiky-haired 40-something, who supplies pictures of celebs
to all the magazines and newspapers, was asked by Channel
4's website what it takes to have an A-list profile.
"It's a combination of PR and the right people to promote
in the right arenas; it's not just about popularity. Press
interest usually lasts a year so it's my job to make people
more famous than just being on the show, and hopefully make
them a millionaire," said the oft-obnoxious Aussie.
He then gave an opinion on certain housemates' earning potential,
including recent evictee Jennifer:
Jennifer
Darryn said that Jen, who's earned around £20k so far,
messed-up her chances of earning decent money by causing the
fuss which led to Fight Night II. He predicted that she'll
likely appear in a tabloid newspaper and Heat magazine, but
reminded that she's not exactly liked by the public so is
a hard sell.
Mario
Darryn said that he's a nice bloke and a good guy to watch
on TV, but he wouldn't want to make money out-of him. In other
words, he couldn't really make money out-of man-manager
Mario.
Lisa
As with Mario, Darryn doesn't think that Lisa has any earning
potential, even if she makes for good viewing.
Rex
About Rex, Darryn said, "He's changed his spots in the
last week. He's trying to be 'Mr Cool' but he's not that cool".
Rex's only real chance of making money would be to hook-up
with a female in the House.
Mohamed
"He earned a lot of credibility with the public for dealing
with the Picturegate scandal the way he did. He won't get
a huge amount of interest, but he'll be one to watch,"
said Darryn of Mo, before suggesting that, as with Rex, he
could do well if he got into a relationship.
Sara
"If she can remain in the House and hook-up with someone,
she'll be rolling in it," said Darryn of fellow Aussie
Sara.
Luke
Darryn predicted that Luke would get work doing personal appearances,
but wouldn't be earning big money for each appearance. However,
the pap stated that Luke could win the £100k prize money
and go on to earn a living from his appearance on BB.
Stephanie
1st Evictee Steph has made around £100,000 since she
left the Big Brother House, which Darryn thought was amazing
given that she was only there for a week. That's premiership
footballer money!
Dale
"He'll be the guy who makes big bucks; he'll do extremely
well commercially," said Darryn, who claims to have helped
last year's hunk Ziggy make £750,000. It was suggested
that Dale could sell tanning or men's products, and will likely
earn between £100k and £300k. That would be boosted
to £500k or maybe even £1 million if he hooks-up
with someone in the House.
Kat
Darryn's favourite housemate, he reckoned cookie monster Kat
has the best chance commercially because she's a real character,
is loved by the public and isn't playing a game. He predicted
that she could be the face of cookies or cornflakes etc.
To be honest, we're surprised about Dale. Sure, the 21-year-old
has the requisite good looks and rippling muscles, but he's
not exactly the most dynamic contestant ever. Also, he never
manages to finish his (mumbled) sentences, so presumably they
won't let him speak in any adverts?!
