Do Fans Want Even More Housemates?

Just after Alex got sent home last week, we started a new Home page Poll asking what fans would prefer to see in respect of the arrival of extra housemates.

Whenever we publish a new Poll, the hope is that one of the options takes the lead, but at the start of this particular Poll the five options held around 20% each for a while!

However, as time went on there was a change, and the options and final percentages after a few days were:

One more/ Stuart in now, but then no more newbies - 21%
Trickle a few newbies in over the next few weeks - 18%
Add 4 newbies in one go, in three/ four weeks time - 12%
Throw-in 6 or 8 newbies to shake things up within the next fortnight - 22%
I don't/ didn't really want any more housemates - 27%

So, it can be seen that just over a quarter of the fans who voted didn't want Big Brother to put any more housemates in. Just to remind you, this series began with sixteen contestants, but Big Brother 8 last year featured a whopping twenty-four in the end.

However, it also means that the majority (73%) did want to see more housemates.

And of that majority, 29% of voters would be happy to call it a day now that Stuart has arrived, but 71% are keen to see multiple newbies arrive over the coming weeks.

So, to answer the question posed in the title of this article: Yes, fans do want to see more housemates, and judging by our Poll results, they would prefer to see 6 or 8 newbies put-in in one go.
