Who WINS Tonight? You Tell US!
Seriously, we have absolutely no idea who's going to win
Big Brother 9, so if you've come to BBO for the definitive
answer, you've come to the wrong place!
We say that because it's all over the place this year, or
more to the point, the internet Polls totally contradict the
Bookmakers, who've taken a huge amount of money on Mikey lately.
Looking at our own 'Winner?' Poll, Rachel is in the lead
with 33%, followed by Sara on 22% and Rex on 20%. Mikey has
14% and Darnell 11%. In fact, we could show you a handful
of Polls where Rachel is in the lead and Mikey is in third
or fourth place.
However, the bookies have elected Mikey as their Favourite
and seem convinced that he'll win, despite there being little
support for him on the Polls of dedicated Big Brother fan
sites. Indeed, even though female contestants hold over 50%
of the votes on most Polls, the bookies still favour the 'Male
Winner' market.
So, for the first time in years, it's the last day of the
series yet we have very little idea what will happen. Will
Darnell come last, or will it be Sara? Is Rex vying for the
top spot, or will he come no higher than third place? Can
Rachel go all the way, or will she be beaten by Mikey? We
have no idea.
The editing of the highlights show tonight probably won't
have much sway as it's a bit too late in the day for it to
make a difference. What could make a difference,
however, is changes in allegiance from fans.
In other words, will Rex get Darnell's support if the songwriter
leaves early, and will Sara's fans start voting for Rachel
if the Aussie is first out? Or, could it be Mikey going first,
his support transferring to Rachel and her support going in
turn to Sara? See, we're blinking clueless!
Many people think that the only real contenders are Mikey,
Rachel and Rex, but information leaked at the beginning of
the week (admittedly before Kat and Mo left) suggested that
Sara was at the top in the actual public vote. However,
perhaps fans have since decided that the girl who won £25k,
like rich-boy Rex, doesn't need the prize money?
Anyway, this makes for a truly exciting (albeit nail-biting
if you have money at stake) series Finale, and just serves
to re-iterate that if you want, say, Rachel to win, you MUST
pick-up the phone and vote for her tonight. Conversely, if
you definitely don't want one of the others to win, such as
Mikey or Rex, you have to do something about it.
We're not going to bother listing the virtues of each Finalist
for a number of reasons; firstly, many fans have told us that
they aren't enamoured with any of them, and secondly,
we suspect that you know who you like by now, and can make-up
your own mind.
To conclude, despite what the Polls and bookies say, we'd
be surprised if Rachel won because she hasn't done a great
deal throughout the series apart from been 'nice'. We'd also
be a bit surprised if Mikey won because frankly, fans thought
he was disgusting and creepy for weeks on end. And we'd definitely
be surprised if Rex became the victor because he's undoubtedly
the obnoxious 'baddie' of the piece, somewhat reminiscent
of BB5's Jason Cowan, who came second in 2004.
Add to that the fact that Sara's looking unlikely to win
and Darnell cannot possibly win, and you can see that we're
stumped! If you have more of an idea what the outcome
at tonight's Finale will be though, why not head over to our
Betting
Zone section and have a little gamble?
Lastly, we've had another Poll running since Kat and Mo left
on Tuesday, asking: 'Who deserves to come second?', which
currently has Mikey in the lead with 26% and Sara trailing
on 22%. This indicates that users of this site, at least,
want Rachel to be crowned the Winner and Mikey to be the Runner-up.
By midnight tonight, we'll know if their wish has been granted.
Who Wins? YOU decide!
Don't forget to tune-in to the two live Eviction shows on
Channel 4 tonight, Friday the 5th of September 2008, and if
you want to influence the outcome of the Finale, be sure to
register a vote or two for your favourite housemate/s. The
voting telephone numbers can be found here.
