Nominations Wednesday, £50k Prize At Stake
We wrote this
article yesterday afternoon saying that normal nominations
would take place today, Tuesday the 26th of August. Actually
they're not taking place today. Doh!
When we published that article, internet forums went into
a bit of a frenzy, with fans convinced that Wednesday's night's
special live task would decide who faces eviction this week,
not nominations.
However, that's not the case, as the Eleventh and final
round of nominations will definitely take place, it's just
that Channel 4 have decided to move the procedure forward
a day.
So, we can categorically say for sure that the nominations
WILL take place on Wednesday night (27/08/08), and whatsmore,
they'll be shown live. This is bound to cause panic
among the contestant group, who are usually well prepared
for the procedure.
Also, it often takes eons for everyone to nominate,
but seeing as the first of the two live shows is an hour long
and the second is only half-an-hour, the eight housemates
will have to crack-on and give their reasons quickly.
We said before that Channel 4 are anticipating two nominees,
and that's still the case. However, as-per the rumours, the
task is all about winning money, as whoever goes up for eviction
will compete in a live task to win £50,000. This money
will not affect the overall £100k prize fund, and the
nominees will still face eviction on Friday whoever wins the
cash.
And it's entirely feasible that the winner of the live task
could go on to win the series, thereby scooping a total of
£150k. Presumably that person won't be Mohamed though,
as traditionally the Head of House cannot be nominated; if
that rule stands, he shouldn't be eligible to take part in
the task.
We also assume that the housemates won't be told about the
live task before they nominate, but BB could tell
them just to shake things up. This would provide something
of a dilemma, as although they'll possibly be sending someone
home, they could be helping them to win £50k. In other
words, one of their enemies could end-up doing rather well
out of it.
So, there you go. Sorry that we weren't quite right in our
previous article, but Big Brother reserves the right to change
its mind at any time... the miserable and awkward old entity!
