What's The Theme For Big Brother 9?
With regards to the theme for Big Brother 9, it seems that
the producers will not only be encouraging game-playing amongst
the contestants this year, but also clamping down on rule-breaking
more than ever before.
Creative Director Sharon Powers recently said of the this
year's show, "Tough Bruv won't tolerate rule-breaking,"
and hinted that there'll be serious consequences for talking
about nominations etc. Yeah, yeah, we've heard it all before
love!
She also echoed Davina McCall's recent comments by admitting
that the all-seeing entity had been rather too lenient in
recent years.
About the new tough stance, Powers added, "It's going
to be exciting to see how the housemates rise to the challenge.
For both the housemates and the viewers it will be a summer
to remember".
The new red-and-black BB Eye logo apparently conveys a 'war
and order' theme, and Endemol Top Bod Phil Edgar-Jones has
re-iterated that BB is a game show, saying, "Big
Brother knows that power corrupts, and this year’s gameplaying
will undoubtedly shatter the housemates’ hopes of an
easy summer”. Hmm, interesting.
We know from inside sources that the show's producers would
like to see more game-playing from all the housemates, something
you see on Big Brother USA where most of the contestant group
seem to be out for themselves.
For the American contestants will routinely lie and manipulate
each other in-order to win the prize money, but that goes
against the British trait of 'fair play'. So, it'll be interesting
to see how it all pans out and whether Big Bro can really
stir things up and turn everyone into a sort-of mole.
If so, it could make for a great series, but we'll just have
to wait and see. In the meantime, whether they go for the
gameplaying aspect or not, let's just hope the production
team have chosen a good mix of fun, wacky, obnoxious and hopefully
a few normal characters too!
