It's Business As Usual Tonight
Unless you'ree signed-up to our Newsletter, or have been
reading our Discussion Forum this afternoon, you're probably
wondering what this article is all about. Well, for those
people who do know, let us first confirm that everything
is back to normal tonight and set to go ahead as planned.
Phew!
Despite all the recent hype, we received news this afternoon
from a reliable inside source that Endemol/ Channel 4 were
thinking about making the following changes to the Fake Eviction:
i. The fake evictee would have some kind of additional powers
or special dispensation when they return, such as immunity
from being nominated perhaps?
ii. The crowd would not be allowed to chant or even boo.
iii. The evictee's interview with Davina would NOT be seen
by the rest of the housemates.
To be honest, we were staggered when we heard this, as it
would have made the whole thing entirely pointless and totally
farcical.
After all, the excitement in watching the first ever Fake
Eviction is in seeing the evictee squirm or kick-off when
they return to the House, their peers having heard precisely
what they think of them.
Well, we're happy to tell you that tonight's fake eviction
will go ahead as planned, exactly as we've been detailing
and hyping all this week. This is despite Channel 4's inevitable
fears over a repeat of the infamous 'Fight Night' during Big
Brother 5, which saw the show taken off-air for a while.
To address the above points, as far as we know the fake evictee
will not be given any special treatment whoever it is, and
will be eligible to be nominated on Monday at the Seventh
Round.
Regards the eviction crowd, it is true that when the evictee
leaves the House they will not chant or boo. In fact, they
will help Big Brother continue the fake theme by donning bowler
hats and remaining silent.
Erm, don't ask us... it's something to do with a famous painting,
but it all sounds pretty weird and wonderful, and their reaction
will certainly baffle the hell out of the evictee!
Lastly, the fake evictee's interview with Davina WILL now
be seen by the other ten contestants, just before the Host
reveals to the evictee that the procedure was fake and tells
them they can go back in.
Remember, that person – either Charley or Nicky –
will not be aware that their peers have seen the interview,
so they're unlikely to refuse to go back in. They will not,
as far as we know, be given any incentives to return.
Once the ruse has been announced, Davina will then lead the
evictee back out to the waiting crowd, who are then free to
boo or jeer exactly as they want. And we're suspecting that
they'll 'want' alright!
So, it's panic over, the only dubious bit of the evening's
proceedings is that apparently Channel 4 won't be revealing
the percentage by which the fake-evictee is temporarily kicked-out.
This will doubtless spark rumours of another fix, but please
refer to our Home page Poll for an idea of the likely percentages.
Our Polls have been within 2% accurate for the past two evictions,
and our Poll relating to the Fake Eviction currently has Charley
with 54% of the vote.
Mind you, if it stretched to 5% inaccuracy, Nicky could
go. That said, in the real public vote, people can register
more than one vote and Charley is likely to inspire many more
people to pick-up the phone than Nicky is. So, Charley may
well go with a much bigger percentage tonight.
Don't forget to tune-in to Channel 4 tonight, Friday the
13th of July at 8.30pm, to see what happens. Here at BBO,
we'll doubtless be glued to the live coverage on e4 all night!
