Who WINS Tonight? YOU Decide!
By the end of the day, it will all be over, and we'll know
who's been crowned the Winner of Big Brother 8 2007. But who's
it likely to be?
Let's first take a look at who's not likely to win
out-of the six finalists (counting Sam and Amanda as one),
and Carole's name springs to mind first.
The bossy former sexual health worker became Public Enemy
No.1 at the penultimate eviction, when almost 50% of fans
wanted to see the back of her. She survived then because it
was down to the Gurus to decide, but Carole will possibly
be the first to leave tonight.
If so, it would be a fantastic feat for latecomer Jonty to
beat his older peer to 5th Place, not least because everyone
thought he was a weirdo when he first arrived. Also, he's
been in the game for just five weeks, versus Carole's thirteen.
It will undoubtedly be really close between them, but it looks
like Jonty could do it if he gets enough support
from the voting public.
To consider who might go next, let's take a look at our recent
Polls.
After the phone lines opened for fans to start voting for
a Winner last Friday, we started a Home page Poll asking 'Who's
your favourite of the Finale Week housemates?' The result
of this Poll, which closed on Thursday, was:
Carole - 3%, Jonty - 6%, Liam - 11%, Ziggy - 14%, Brian -
27%, Samanda - 39%
So, it was fairly close between Liam and Ziggy, but it seems
that Liam may have lost favour lately because fans have realised
that he hasn't actually done a lot during his time in the
House, apart from throwing the Twins around.
Also, although he's a nice enough bloke, Liam can be a bit
big-headed and laddish at times, and of course, he's already
got the £100k in his back pocket. He will possibly come
4th therefore.
Ziggy has been through quite a lot during his time in the
House, from being the first male housemate to his 'relationship'
with Chanelle, and perhaps it's fitting that he should come
3rd? It still seems a bit unlikely though, because Liam was
so popular for so long, but we're not going to say that it
won't be justified if it happens.
That said, fans can vote for free on website Polls and so
Ziggy's apparent support may not materialise when push-comes-to-shove
at the public vote.
Looking at the likely 2nd Place Runner-up, let's revisit
our Polls and take a look at the current one, which has been
running for two days and asks, 'Who do you want to WIN Big
Brother 8?'
At the time of writing, and after thousands of votes, it
reads: Carole - 3%, Jonty - 5%, Liam - 9%, Ziggy - 16%, Brian
- 27%, Samanda - 40%
That's very similar to the previous Poll, and seeing as this
one was started so close to the Finale, it should reflect
more accurately what's likely to happen. That means that Brian,
who pundits thought was neck-and-neck with Samanda just a
week ago, seems to havebeen relegated to 2nd Place.
It's still not clear whether he's been playing a game or
not (i.e. deliberately portraying a nice-but-dim 'Jade-like'
figure) and fans keep noticing how much he pushes the point
when he says something stupid. Frankly, who doesn't know who
Shakespeare is, or that Frank Sinatra sang 'My Way' and not
Cliff Richard?
So, it rather looks like the Twins might do it, which is
incredible when you consider that before they were given the
option to become 'one', one of them was the 4th favourite
to Win behind Jonty, and the other was nowhere really.
We don't know whether they really deserve the £100,00
Prize money, especially as they'll make a mint regardless
of whether they win or not, but the 19-year sisters are harmless
and fun, even if they do speak total-and-utter drivel!
Don't discount Brian scooping the prize though, especially
if all the Twins fans get smug, sit back and don't bother
voting, but Bri's fans go mad registering loads of votes tonight.
The BB8 Finale is expected to pull-in a low amount of votes
compared to previous years, after all.
Just for your interest, we also started another new Poll on
Thursday morning that asked 'Which finalist would you like
to come SECOND? Brian is currently top in that Poll, with
Samanda just behind him. NB. From the voter logs can see that
lots of Brian fans have been voting for Samanda to come second,
and vice versa.
Who Wins? You decide!
Don't forget to tune-in to the two live Eviction shows on
Channel 4 tonight, Friday the 31st of August 2007, and if
you want to influence the outcome of the Finale, be sure to
register a vote or two for your favourite housemate/s. The
voting telephone numbers can be found here.
