Ninth Round Nominees Announced
Last week there were no nominations because the Hostel-dwellers
swapped places with four of the housemates from the main house,
putting the latter group of people 'up' in the process. Yesterday,
however, was a normal round of noms and as a result the nominees
this week are:
Amy, Jonty, Kara-Louise and The Twins (as one i.e. 'Samanda').
We say that yesterday was a normal round, but that's not
entirely accurate as the Twins nominated as though they were
one person; a joint decision. That privilege meant that they
would automatically face eviction this week, which was Big
Brother's way of ensuring that they have the experience.
More to the point, it was the all-scheming entity's way of
making sure that the public have an opportunity to get rid
of them; otherwise, they would probably have sailed through
to the Finale without ever being nominated or facing eviction.
That sounds a bit harsh on the part of Big Brother, until
you remember that the sisters vowed to both leave
if one gets evicted by the public (i.e. the possible outcome
of the latest twist is the same and is therefore pointless),
and when you consider that they are very, very unlikely to
go.
Actually, that's a massive understatement, and if the Twins
get evicted this Friday we'll give everyone reading this article
£1000*. Of course, if fans did suddenly go bonkers and
that actually happened, we'd immediately go bankrupt and you'd
be stuffed for the payout. Still, the thought was there!
So, that leaves the original Halfway Housemates in contention
to go, and against all the odds Jonty is safe. That statement
is a bit ironic actually as the balding eccentric is the 4th
Favourite to win at this stage, having been knocked off 3rd
place when the Twins were counted as one i.e. he's still surprisingly
high-up in the running to win.
Thinking about Kara, she's frankly a bit boring and we can't
think of much to say about her, apart from that she can come
across as quite miserable. Therefore, it's tempting to think
that she might go this week, however, let's not forget that
Amy is also up this week.
The glamour model set-off on the wrong foot when she callously
wrote-off her former Halfway Housemates and voted them back
into the Hostel to face possible eviction last week. Also,
her failed attempts at wooing Liam have grated on fans, not
least because she appears to have done that as part of a gameplan.
Don't forget, she watched the show before she came-in and
knows that he's i. rich and ii. popular.
So, when all's said and done, it very much looks like Amy
will be sent home on Friday night, in-part because closest
contender Kara probably won't provoke many detractors into
picking-up the phone and voting. In other words, she may be
disliked, but she's not as hated as Amy.
Who stays, who goes? YOU decide!
The 9th Eviction of Big Brother 8 will take place on Friday
the 10th of August and the voting lines are now open. The
voting telephone numbers and details of this year's charities
can be found here.
