'Rate Yourselves' Task: What A Palarver!
It's been a tumultuous day in the Big Brother House, and
this evening's controversial shopping budget Task certainly
didn't help matters.
First Chanelle got upset over the fact that the loo roll
supplies were running low, then Laura and Nicky had a set-to
around lunch time.
During their barnie, someone sensibly noted that arguing
wouldn't get them anywhere, but Charley decided to 'put her
five eggs in' and bring-up old issues, which predictably made
things worse.
There followed a group House Meeting, but the proceedings
fell apart almost straight away, as a deadpan Lesley told
her peers, "I am sick to death of the lot of you!"
and Carole stormed-off when 'Guess who?' opened her gob.
However, the real friction came when the group took part
in the latest task, where the girls were required to rate
themselves in terms of looks, intelligence and consideration
for others. Frankly, you could see what was coming...
With the girls in the garden and Ziggy in the Diary Room,
they were asked to rate themselves according to three different
categories, keeping in mind what Ziggy might say. They had
just two minutes to decide the order for each category, and
each girl had to stand behind the corresponding podium, numbered
1 to 11.
Things started-off well, with the group vowing to be honest,
not squabble and work together as a team, however that was
about as likely to happen as Elvis turning-up on the back
of Shergar!
First the girls were asked to rate themselves in order of
intelligence. However, they started arguing almost immediately,
with Laura bigging herself up and Nicky shouting, "Just
get on with it". In the end, they ran out of time and
had to settle for the following order: (most to least brainy)
Les, Emily, Nicky, Shabnam, Laura, Chanelle, Tracey, Carole,
Charley, Twin A, Twin B.
Next, the girls had to rate themselves in order of attractiveness,
which was bound to cause a commotion and boy, did it ever?
First Emily insisted that she knew the correct order, then
Charley declared, "I'm goin' with Number 1, blatantly".
And as the bickering reached fever pitch, Chanelle had to
physically remove Shab from podium 3 and send her down to
number 6, much to the Temp's dismay.
In response, Shabnam ended-up throwing a wobbler and got
into a slanging match with task neighbour Tracey, who wasn't
having any of it. Still, at least Nicky took the only empty
podium without arguing and good old Laura just went straight
to the end of the line.
So, the order they settled-on was: (most to least attractive)
Charley, Chanelle, Emily, Twin A, Twin B, Shabnam, Tracey,
Nicky, Carole, Lesley, Laura.
Lastly, they rated themselves in order of who was the 'least
considerate', though there was potential for confusion there,
because technically the least 'least considerate'
person is the most considerate.
Still, the order they put themselves in was: (most considerate
to least considerate)
Laura, Carole, Tracey, Nicky, Twin A, Twin B, Emily, Charley,
Lesley, Shabnam, Chanelle.
The procedure turned-into a right palarver, but they got
there in the end. It just remains to be seen if the girls
can think like Ziggy... if not, that loo roll shortage may
turn into a toiletries drought!
