Celebrity Big Brother (Hijack) Is Back!
Like us, you probably thought that Celebrity Big Brother
had been scrapped for 2008, mainly due to the huge controversy
in January when contestants Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and
Jo O'Meara ganged-up on Indian film star Shilpa Shetty.
However, it seems that the top bods at Channel 4 have had
a change of heart, as the three-week long 'Big Brother: Celebrity
Hijack' is due to hit our screens in the New Year.
So, despite the fact that Jade lost her career as a result
of the CBB5 race row, Danielle got dumped by her famous partner
and Jo nearly had a nervous breakdown (not to mention the
fact that Gordon Brown had to effectively smooth things over
with India), Channel 4 are giving the show another go.
Actually, that's not entirely accurate as the format has
been tweaked this time around: the celebrities will take the
role of Big Brother and control the lives of a group of housemates,
made-up from (not-so) ordinary members of the public apparently.
Also, the show will air on the digital channel E4 and won't
be seen on Channel 4 at all after the Launch night.
Aside from the usual daily highlights show, fans will be
able to watch live coverage throughout the night on E4. 'Big
Brother's Big Mouth' and 'Big Brother's Little Brother' will
also return, however this is your last chance to see Dermot
O'Leary in action on BBLB and at the evictions, as the long-time
host will subsequently be concentrating on fronting ITV's
'The X Factor'.
As always, the Big Brother House has been revamped for the
new show, and the all-scheming entity that we affectionately
call Big Bro has hinted that there'll be plenty of twists
in-store for the residents... what else did you expect?!
Frankly, here at BBO, we had embraced the notion that the
team behind BB would be taking a 9-month break, in order to
come back with a bang in the summer for Big Brother 9. However,
this latest offering could be good fun and we'll definitely
be tuning-in and also covering the show for those who can't
watch it.
Pop back soon to see what transpires!
'Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack' starts at 9pm on Thursday
the 3rd of January 2008 and the Launch show can be seen on

BBLB is on at 7.30pm Monday to Friday and 7pm on Sundays,
