Celebrity Big Brother (4) Is Back!
The short-format ‘Celebrity’ version of Big Brother
is back for a fourth series to kick-off the New Year. Yippee!
Okay, maybe we’re getting a little over-excited there,
but after the slightly dull second series of 2002, last year’s
Series 3 was absolutely superb.
Remember the dodgy bogie-eating antics and overtly chauvinistic
behaviour of scruffy racing pundit John McCririck?
Then there was the Germaine Greer-instigated group revolt,
after which the renowned feminist dramatically quit the show,
but not before accusing Big Bro of being a bully.
And who could forget the surprise entrance of Jackie (“Yeah,
Jackie!”) Stallone, a ruse which backfired on BB when
the old gal made her peace with ex daughter-in-law Brigitte
Nielson?
We still find it amusing just thinking about the time Kenzie
and Jeremy killed themselves laughing when doddery old Jackie
walked straight into a wall!
It is believed that the new series will last for a full 3
weeks; the previous three series lasted for 8, 10 and 18 days
respectively.
And, although it will doubtless receive a major overhaul
for Big Brother 7 in the summer, Elstree’s most famous
house been re-jigged for CBB4.
But what fans really want to know is: which celebrities
have been mad enough to sign-up this time around?
Well, as always, Channel 4 won’t release that information
until the series actually starts, but we’ll probably
write a story giving you a good idea who they are nearer the
time.
There’s been lots of speculation lately about possible
housemates and some of the names mentioned include: Lionel
Blair, Faria Alam, Shane McGowan, Gillian McKeith, Johnny
Vegas, Esther Rantzen, Derek Acorah, Jimmy and Liza Tarbuck,
Dave Berry, Jodie Marsh, Pete Burns, Boy George and Macaulay
Culkin.
However, those who've almost certainly been signed-up are
Michael Barrymore, Dennis Rodman and Anna Nicole Smith, the
former having been a rumoured contestant before.
By the way, if you don’t know who any of the above-listed
‘celebs’ are, don’t worry, as you may never
need to know if they fail to enter the House next month!
Whoever it turns out to be, inside sources tell us that Big
Bro is continuing the Secret Missions theme from Big Brother
6, which will hopefully create some friction and paranoia
within the contestant group. Great!
Celebrity Big Brother 4 launches on Thursday 5th of January
2006 at 9pm on Channel 4. Don’t forget to pop back and
