Shocked Housemates Learn Of Michael Jackson Death
When 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson died two-and-a-half weeks
ago at the age of 50, the world was in shock and some fans
called for the Big Brother 10 housemates to be told because
he was such a big star. However, Channel 4 declared at the
time that they would not
be informed.
Today, however, Noirin was told the news by former Big Brother
4 contestant Federico Martone, who was in the House to take
part in a gymkhana task for Big Bro's 10th Birthday celebrations.
The brazen Scot was always going to be a risky proposition
for Big Bruv, because on the night of his eviction back in
2003, he broke the rules and committed one last act of defiance
by telling his soon-to-be ex-housemates which ones he'd nominated.
Anyway, as soon as the task had finished today, Noirin informed
her peers that Federico had told her something important from
the outside world, so they spent a while fretting over what
it could be; a war, or perhaps Fed had given some feedback
on each member of the group?
Some thought the Queen may have died, while Charlie speculated
that the big news was that Katie Price and Peter Andre had
got back together (gawd!) But Noirin soon visited the Diary
Room for advice, and was permitted to tell her peers what
she'd heard.
"For me it's, like, a big deal because I really, really
respected and thought this guy was great... but Michael Jackson
has died," announced the pretty retailer, stunning her
peers and prompting Siavash to ask: "Are you shi**ing
us?" Other members of the group discussed how good an
entertainer he was, but Rodrigo was annoyed that the news
had ruined his day.
Not able to believe the revelation, the Brazilian student
subsequently told Noirin, "One of the most important
and famous singers, who everyone loved, has died. I am upset.
Now we will just think about this". Siavash also found
it difficult to take-in the news, just as we did when we first
heard it.
