It's Big Bro's Birthday! Tonight's Coverage Extended
Get the balloons and party poppers ready, for it's Big Brother's
10th Birthday today. Woo-hoo! And seeing as the omnipresent
one is packing a lot into tonight's two shows, the second
one has been extended.
The first ever series of Big Brother in the UK began on Friday
the 14th of July 2000, when ten unsuspecting nobodies moved
into the original Big Brother House in Bow, London. However,
what most fans have probably forgotten, is that we didn't
get to see any footage until the following Tuesday, when the
first show was aired.
While we're in a pedantic mood, we might as well point-out
that although we're half-way through Series 10, technically
it's Big Brother's 9th Birthday today. We say that
because if you were born in mid-July of the year 2000, you
would have just turned nine-years-old, not ten!
The pre-teen entity obviously hasn't learnt to count properly
yet! Anyway, we digress... and we're just messing about, because
C4 is right when they talk about BB's '10th Anniversary' instead
of mentioning the entity's Birthday.
Tonight's two shows will be jammed-packed with stuff: highlights
from the last 24 hours, the 6th Eviction (not the 7th Eviction
as maths dummy Big Bro thinks, seeing as Beinazir was 'rejected'
and not evicted), an interview with Davina and her helpers,
plus the arrival of five new housemates to really pep things
up. Phew!
So, the first Channel 4 show will take place at 9pm and end
at 10pm, but the second show, starting at 10.35pm as normal,
will run through to 11.35pm in-order that they can fit everything
in.
Don't forget to tune-in tonight, Friday the 17th of July
2009, and remember that there's a special
edition of BBLB going-out at 6pm on E4. Also, Davina will
host Big Brother's Big Mouth tonight on E4 at the later time
of 11.35pm, and the live coverage will begin on E4 shortly
afterwards (or on Channel 4 at 1.40am).
