Dermot O'Leary Not Impressed With BB10 Housemates
Former 'Big Brother's Little Brother' presenter Dermot O'Leary
has revealed that he's not impressed with the contestant group
this year.
Talking to Heat magazine, the 36-year-old also said that
he doesn't really have enough time to follow the show daily
these days, now that he's concentrating on fronting the upcoming
series of The X Factor.
National auditions for the popular talent contest have already
been recorded, and Dermot also hosts his own BBC2 radio show
on Saturday afternoons. However, he said of this year's Big
Bro: "I don't know if I've fallen out of love with it.
I was there for seven years and I just can't keep watching
it. I don't have enough time to invest in it".
And commenting on the Big Brother 10 housemates, Dermy said
that he hasn't been 'blown away' by them and stated that it's
all about casting, suggesting that the producers haven't got
it right this year.
"You have to bear in mind that I'm not anti-BB. I still
feel very defensive over it. I've always said it was the making
of me and there are some people who work on it who I really
care about," said Dermot, adding that he misses presenting
fanzine show BBLB and doing live TV every day.
The broadcaster hosted BBLB between 2001 and 2007, but new
hosts George Lamb and Zezi Ifore took his place for Big Brother
9 last summer. Zezi did not return this year however, possibly
because Big Brother fans criticised her unprofessional style
on internet forums throughout the entire series.
The new series of The X Factor begins this Saturday, the
22nd of August 2009, on ITV1.
