This Is An Independent Website
Please note: we are neither connected with Channel 4, nor
the TV show that we comment on i.e. Big Brother. That leaves
us in the position of being able to report on what we actually
see, not what someone tells us to say.
It seems that some people have had strong opinions on our
coverage of the big bust up and it has provoked quite a response,
both positive and negative. Great.
However, when we receive e-mails saying that we ignored Emma's
potentially racist comments, it's simply not true. Please
read our article again, as we touched on this issue. We cannot
go into depth about every little detail of a 6-hour
long drama.
Also, we are not trivialising African poverty but as fans,
we are watching the entertainment show Big Brother; it is
not a sounding board for strong political views, despite Kitten's
best efforts to make it so.
BBO is a light-hearted site and we cannot go into such matters
in depth; our interest is in seeing the housemates have fun
and ultimately, in being entertained.
It is never our intention to suggest that housemates' issues
aren't valid in any way. However, if we feel that Vanessa
is boring us, playing for sympathy or being hypocritical,
we have the right to say so, whether you agree or not.
And that's the great thing: that you are free to have your
own views. After all, you couldn't possibly expect the millions
of Big Brother viewers to all agree and interpret the housemates'
behaviour the same way, could you?
We are just viewers like you, but are we biased? Not intentionally.
To re-iterate, we have no influence over the editing of the
show and the way the different characters are portrayed.
Furthermore, we are open to being steered by the editing of
the show the same as you, but we form our own opinions and
they don't always agree with Channel 4.
In our recent story, we did not reveal that Marco had danced
in Jay's face, but then we didn't detail how Victor, seething
and punching things in the pamper room, was definitely brewing-up
for a fight either.
Like we say, our stories are something of an overview. And
an independent one at that.
Thanks to all the people who've e-mailed us regarding these
highly controversial happenings. Whether you have agreed with
our coverage or not, Big Brother has undoubtedly provided
us with some compelling television.
