What The Polls Say
Let's face it, no-one really knows who's going to win Big
Brother 3; some would even go as far as-to say that no-one
has a clue. And surely that has to be a good thing, what with
it being just 2 days away from the final?
Polls, by their very nature, are designed to gather a general
consensus of public opinion. However, there can be biases.
For instance, if a particular newspaper was a staunch supporter
of Jonny, a large number of people participating in it's poll
could be swayed into voting for Jonny. Let's look at some
recent polls.
In Wednesday's paper, effectively Tuesday night's tally, The
Sun had the following figures in it's poll (to Win): Jade:
37%, Jonny: 29%, Kate: 21% and Alex: 13%. On Tuesday morning,
GMTV's poll also had Jade in the lead with 29% and Kate close
behind with 27%.
RI:SE's poll on Wednesday morning had Alex: 41%, Jade: 26%,
Kate: 23% and Jonny: 10%, whilst our poll has been pretty
consistent all along, currently reading: Kate: 38%, Alex:
26%, Jonny: 22% and Jade: 14%.
So, it would seem that the polling figures are truly 'all
over the place,' as The Sun has Jade, then Jonny, GMTV has
Jade then Kate, RI:SE has Alex then Jade and we've got Kate
then Alex!
Whilst our polls have previously been within 3-5% accurate,
we are not expecting that to be the case this final time.
This is partly because the poll has been running for almost
a week now, and those people who voted for a particular contestant
early-on in the poll, could have changed their mind
when it comes to the real vote.
One thing that we do concede however, is that Jade
is gaining ground in our poll and started-off at around 9%.
But can she gain another 20% or so, in-order to forge ahead
and clinch it? Well, that's down to you lot now and how you
vote in the real telephone voting.
Well done to you, the fans, for learning from past shows (Amma
and Stu evicted too early etc.) and keeping the team here
at Big Brother Online on the edges of our seats.
