Voting Scams - Don't Be Sucked In

We mentioned a little while ago that a small number of fans were falling for voting scams. However, by letting you know, it seems that we're winning the war against the 'numpties' that start them.

The most recent ones we've heard of are:

A text saying "Win £85,000, call this number."
One where an e-mail mentions parking fines.
There's one which details how someone has found a message in a bottle.
And there's also been one promising footie-related gear, naming some 'big name' sponsors.

However, if you call the number detailed in these type of messages, you are almost certainly setting yourself up to be taken for a ride.

The numbers included in the above examples merely cast a vote for one of the Big Brother contestants to be evicted. And you wouldn't want to responsible for inadvertently evicting your personal favourite housemate, would you?

So, in the words of Jade, don't be a 'mug!' Please be careful if you receive any dubious e-mails or texts and remember: if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
