The Task Result
This week's main task was one to test the group's powers
of observation and memory skills. It was actually a test on
details of the actual house and garden, not the housemates
as detailed by us earlier. Channel 4 had obviously made late
changes to the format.
In the couple of minutes before it started, the housemates
swotted-up on details such as, how many sunbeds, cameras,
stairs and fire exits there were in the house. They were then
called into the diary room one by one, in an order chosen
by themselves, and each asked an observation question.
Their questions were:
Jonny
Q - How many steps are there on the Big Brother staircase?
18,19, or 20?
Jonny gave the answer of 20, but the correct answer was 18.
PJ
Q - Name the breed of the cockerel in the Big Brother garden.
PJ said to the others that gave the answer of brahmen, but
it was unclear as he also said braboo/ brabham first. The
correct answer was brahma.
Tim
Q - In the poor side welcome pack, how many hours does Big
Brother advise you to soak the chickpeas for?
Tim answered with 12, which was correct.
Alex
Q - In the garden as a whole, how many trees are planted in
the ground?
Alex gave the answer of 1, when in fact the correct answer
was 5.
Kate
Q - How many mirrors are there in the rich side bedroom?
Kate answered with 4, which was correct.
Jade
Q - The welcome pack lists the eleven different kinds of vegetables
in the Big Brother garden. Name the two vegetables that begin
with the letter 's'.
Jade struggled with the answer and gave the answer as strawberries
and spinach, before realising her error. Big Brother didn;t
tell her, but the answer was spinach and spring onions.
Adele
Q - Ignoring the divide and counting the living area as one
room., how many rooms are there in the Big Brother House including
the garden.
Adele answered with 7, however the answer is 9: lounge, bedroom
1, bedroom 2, diary room, store room, toilet, wet room, outside
store room, outside toilet.
After everyone had been asked their question, it ended-up
with all the housemates bar Tim and Kate on the poor side
of the house. They were an opportunity for one richie to answer
the 'killer question' and win the removal of the bars. Kate
took the question, which was:
Q - Name all of this year's 14 housemates, including yourself,
in alphabetical order.
This proved more difficult than it sounds and although Kate
was determined to take her time, given that she had 2 minutes
in-which to answer, she messed things up and forgot to mention
Alison, Lee and Lynne. The task had been failed and the bars
remain in place. Tim has become the sole 'richie' this week.
