You Must Be Joking?
Day 35 into 36 and the housemates have been enjoying a joke-telling
session into the early hours of the morning.
With all the housemates present except Tim, who was in the
diary room, Jonny and PJ began trading jokes. Jonny's were
quite risqué, but PJ was careful to make his jokes
'pc' aka politically correct.
The Brummie law man decided to modify the standard format
and tell, 'There was an English man, Scots man and a man from
somewhere else,' jokes. However, for the latter, he still
adopted the Irish accent in his light-hearted paddy-bashing
gags. Doh!
Even Sophie got 'in on the act' and told the 'country and
western/Preston' joke, complete with the lynchpin c-word!
However, the frivolity was apparently cut-short when PJ, picking
up on a comment by Jonny about hundreds and thousands, began
a serious tale of how a local ice cream man was found dead
in his van.
As Jonny asked, "Is this serious?" PJ answered in
the affirmative and told how, "He was found with hundreds
and thousands all over him... he'd topped himself!" So,
it was another gag after all, and a highly amusing one at
that!
This is more like it! Everyone joining-in and having fun,
just like the early days.
