Something For Nothing? - Beware The Voting Scams

Okay, so the Prize Competitions in our Win Stuff section are free to enter, but you generally don't get something for nothing. More to point, if you receive details of an offer that sounds too good to be true, then it most likely is!

So why is it that people fall for these e-mail scams time and time again? Idiots 'tried it on' during previous series' of Big Brother and once again, we've had a few of them this year with the latest aimed at 'hoiking Spencer out.

This new scam involves an e-mail doing the rounds, promising, "World Cup Party Pack. We are giving away a free 20 party pack to the first 10,000 callers..." However, the telephone number you are asked to call, is the one to vote Spencer out.

In participating in such scams, those individuals not sufficiently clued-up will be disappointed to find that they will not be receiving the free beer, holiday or trainers promised, but they'll in fact get nothing in return 'cept an increased phone bill!

And into the bargain, they might be inadvertently voting-out their favourite housemate.

Please beware.
