Sipping champagne with girls gathered at his feet, Alex looked to be in seventh heaven this afternoon.

After choosing Jade, Sophie and Adele for his rich side harem following Saturday's live task, it would seem the rich have just got richer.

Given champagne by Big Brother, the Essex chappy decided to crack it open in the garden as the girls waited in anticipation.

The new rich side has certainly been enjoying the good life after a week of outside toilets, pulses and uncomfortable furniture. Now it's bacon, sausage and egg for breakfast, champers for lunch and lazing around the swimming pool all day.

However, Big Brother soon interrupted the good living with instruments for today's mini-task - to prepare a song for new housemate Tim who enters the House this evening.

But not all the rich housemates are quite in the swing of things on the rich side.

"I think she's in Rio de Janeiro as we speak," Adele commented, speaking about the travels of her sister.

"Rio de Janeiro - isn't that a person?" replied Jade.
