Spencer In Early Morning Shocker!

The House cockerel had a shock this morning when he was let out of his coop by none other than Spencer.

But why was Spencer, well known for lying in bed until the early afternoon, awake so early? In fact the Cambridge lad hadn't changed the habits of a lifetime - he'd never even been to bed!

With all the other housemates asleep, Spencer cut a lonely figure as he sat at the poor side's table singing.

But he leapt up when the cockerel started crowing and ran outside to let the fowl out, shouting, "The cock's cocking!"

Peering into the coop he asked, "Are you cock-a-doo-da-loo-ing because you want to come out?"

But the chickens were obviously startled by Spencer's face so early in the morning and refused to come out for several minutes!

When they finally emerged Spencer welcomed them all with a cheery "morning", before letting them walk around the garden, shepherding them with a hoe.

At one point one of the hens jumped on the poor side's vegetable patch but Spencer was quick to push it away. "Get away from those radishes, you can't be trusted," he chastised.

Continuing his firm stance with the hens, Spencer, now leaning on the garden hoe in true rural fashion, said: "I want loads of eggs out of you dudes today. I want two each."

Whether the chickens will obey his instructions remains to be seen.
