The Joy of Becks

While much of the nation were glued to their TV sets and savouring England's exciting 1-0 win over Argentina, the housemates found different ways to cope with their lack of a telly.

But they did ensure that the vital 90 minutes that England played weren't footie-free.

In the lounge sat Kate, Alison, Jonny, Adele, Sophie and Lee. "I didn't like his blond highlights," said Kate, "but with his new haircut and his stubble - mmm!"

"Mm, he does look fit," Alison joined in. Now guess who they were talking about!

And in the garden, like a bunch of old women watching their grandsons' partake in a Saturday morning match, PJ, Spencer, Alex, Sandy and Jade sat with their England flag as a blanket across their knees, singing footy anthems, and drinking hot tea from a flask!

The gang did an excellent impression of watching the match from their sunbeds, and discussed all the stuff those on the terraces do: the World Cup calendar, their team's chances, and the likelihood of Sven staying if their team were to lose.

The sky drizzled with rain but this didn't put them off and at one point Alex made himself a kagool from a black plastic bag rather than go back inside and miss the imaginary game!

"Oh, referee!" the model shouted at regular intervals with Spencer adding the all-important "15 minutes to go" after 30 minutes into the second half.

Oblivious to the dazzling display that the England team were putting on for their fans in the real world, the gang even looked authentically bored most of the time!
