ITV Digital Stop Broadcasting E4 As Big Brother Begins

Recently-troubled TV service ITV Digital will stop broadcasting E4 on Friday the 24th May, the same day that Big Brother 3 begins. This will leave many Big Brother fans in the lurch and with little time to subscribe to alternative offerings from NTL or Sky Digital.

Since the service went bust at the beginning of the month, E4 was allowed to continue broadcasting as a courtesy gesture. A spokesman for Channel 4 described the past few weeks as a "bonus" for subscribers to the failed ITV Digital service.

However, the news will come as a bit of blow to all the fans who'd already paid for their service and didn't necessarily see this coming. The situation could force dedicated fans into paying for the live internet streams for now, subject to Channel 4 confirming that they will be charging this year.
