You Ask Us: Where Do I Get Eviction Night Tickets?
Blimey, if we had a pound every time someone asked us about
eviction tickets in the run-up to Big Brother, we'd be 'sunning
it' on a Sunseeker yacht in the Bahamas by now. Actually,
we'd probably be paddling around Poole Quay in a rubber dinghy,
but you get the idea!
Firstly, about getting hold of some tickets for Big Brother
4, what many BB fans don't know is that the tickets are dished-out
for Free, but on a 'first come, first served' basis. Therefore,
you need to understand how it works before you apply for some.
Basically, you are welcome to apply for tickets from the sole-distributor
Powerhouse, but even if you get allocated some, you are NOT
guaranteed entry to the crowd area for Friday night's eviction
shows.
Confused? Let us clarify it for you...
TV production companies always 'over invite', which is another
way of saying that they may have 1000 spaces available in
the audience, but offer tickets to around 1200 people. Ugh,
why would they do that? Simply because many people don't bother
turning up.
So, before you even think about applying for tickets, please
consider whether you'll actually be able to attend - don't
take the opportunity away from someone who desperately wants
to be in the audience, just so you can impress your
mates and then say, "Nah, can't be bothered to go"
on the Friday night.
Also, be prepared to be turned away. Even if you've travelled
over from China, the disproportioned Security chimps won't
let you in once all the spaces have been filled. That's the
idea of 'first come, first served!'
Because of this, we would advise you not to buy tickets
from anyone. The only guaranteed spaces are priority tickets
and they go to the production company staff (yeh, we know:
that's fair). As last year, Fan sites claiming to have tickets
available to win are likely to be simply lying in-order to
impress.
So, provided that you're over 18, to apply for some tickets
you just need to e-mail Rachael
at Powerhouse and someone will get back to you. Make sure
you give your full name and address, your daytime telephone
number and how many tickets you need, or you simply won't
get a response.
Remember though, just because you have requested them,
it doesn't mean that you've definitely been allocated any
- so don't go assuming anything until you hear back and try
not to pester them. Also, you would be advised not to request
a coach-load of tickets, as you probably won't get any.
It's a much safer bet to ask for 3 or 4 in our opinion, 6
maximum.
Finally, if you're reading this and you do make it
into the crowd for an eviction night bash, why not make up
a banner carrying a message from all the fans at BBO? Last
summer, we spotted several prominent banners saying stuff
like 'Good Luck from Big Brother Online' and we tracked down
the supporters in our own Discussion Forum.
A few DVD's were known to be handed-out last year by way of
thanks, but we can't promise anything this time.
Lastly, thanks for your support, have fun and see you there!
