A Couple Of Shows To Tide You Over...
Fans are now 'chomping at the bit' for Big Brother 4 and the
good news is that there's less than a month to go until the
new series hits our screens.
In the meantime, here's a couple of shows that may be of interest
to Big Bro fans:
ITV have just begun a second series of 'I'm A Celebrity...
GET ME OUT OF HERE!', the charity show that involved eight
D-List celebs being thrown together in the Jungle to survive
one another's company.
The 10-day show was a great success and viewers got to witness
a whole load of arguing, bitching, tantrums and frankly, complete
and utter cr*p coming from the mouth if Uri Geller!
This time around there are ten celebs, including:
Antony Worrall Thompson - Chirpy TV chef and restraunteur.
Catalina Guirado - Model and alleged actress that no-one
(except perhaps teenage boys) has really heard of.
Chris Bisson - Actor who played dodgy Vikram Desai
in Corrie. Also starred in the movie East Is East.
Daniella Westbrook - Ex-Eastenders actress, arguably
more famous for having her nose fall apart!
John Fashanu - Controversial ex-footballer and Gladiators
presenter, now a businessman.
Linda Barker - Interior designer, known from the popular
BBC show Changing Rooms. Also writes for certain newspapers
and is a published author.
Phil Tufnell - A renowned cricketer; has just retired
to pursue a TV career. A charismatic but sometimes controversial
guy.
Sian Lloyd - 'Posh' ITV weather presenter, aka weather
girl.
Toyah Willcox - Diminutive 'ex-punk' 80's pop star.
Still singing, Toyah is also an actress, writer and TV presenter.
Wayne Sleep - Only slightly less diminutive
'camp' ballet dancer; tours with his own company. A real live
wire.
Frankly, just 6 months on from the first series, we thought
we'd be a bit jaded this time around. However, having seen
the first night's coverage (Monday 28th April), the contestant
group looks fairly interesting and things are looking good
for an entertaining series.
So, who'll be the source of friction and feuds, who'll provide
the laughs? Tune in to ITV for next two weeks to find out.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! runs nightly for the
next two weeks and aside from the usual coverage on ITV and
ITV2, there'll also be live streaming available throughout
the series on ITV2, just like Big Brother.
The other show we wanted to tell you about is 'Office Monkey'.
This brand new concept is a 'hidden camera' show where two
employees from a real office are recruited each week to basically
play-up and cause havoc in the office.
The thing is, apart from the company owner, none of
the other staff know that it's a set up and are bound to be
bemused or even outraged at some of the things the two competing
'contestants' get up to.
In a twist that would make BBC's 'The Office' manager David
Brent proud, the Monkey's mission is to turn the workplace
into one big joke, but stay on the side of the boss and avoid
getting sacked.
It sounds like a right laugh and we'll definitely be tuning
in to watch all 10 episodes, set to air weekly until the beginning
of July.
Office Monkey is exclusive to ITV2 and begins tonight, Tuesday
the 29th April 2003. See TV guides for programming information
on both the above-mentioned shows.
