Avid Merrion Set To Enter The Big Brother House?

The UK's 'No.1 Big Brother Superfan', Avid Merrion, could be set to enter the BB house during the forthcoming series.

He spent the whole of last summer desperately trying to sneak into the Elstree grounds, including dressing-up (badly) as Davina in a bid to dupe the guards. However, it seems the neck-braced 'nutter might just get his wish this year!

Hang on, you say... who the hell is Avid Merrion?

Avid is the wacky 'ginger-nut' who appeared in all the advert breaks during cable channel e4's coverage of Big Brother 3. As the weeks went on, he progressed from kidnapping BB1 Winner Craig Phillips, to having Helen Adams, Nasty Nick, Craig and Bubble all tied-up and held captive in his cupboard.

However don't worry, the four ex-contestants eventually got fed-up of his, erm, pervy ways and managed to escape right at the end of the series, but not before beating him up!

Of course Avid isn't a real person, he's an hilarious and somewhat-disturbing character of comedian Leigh Francis, the man behind characters such as 'Michael Jackass' in the Channel 4 series 'Bo Selecta!'

Talking to BBO at a recent party, Avid accidentally let slip that C4 have asked him to make a surprise appearance during Big Brother 4, along the lines of the planned Keith Chegwin appearance in BB3. The cult TV presenter was due to become a celebrity guest for a day but the idea was scrapped in the end.

However, TV bosses are apparently keen to go ahead this time with Avid, perhaps something to do with the fact that BBO staff pleaded with them to put the popular Transylvanian 'celeb stalker' in the house last year?

In typical Avid style (read: nonsense), the ginger weirdo confirmed the plans: "I've been asked to go in the house and of course I've said yes. Only special people are chosen for this programme... it's like going into space."

About his possible stay in the house, an ever-hopeful Avid said: "I will have sex with them while they are nobodies," elaborating with, "Then, when they leave the house and become famous, I will sell the story about our night of passion." It wasn't clear whether he was referring to the girls or the boys.

Apart from promising sex live on TV, Avid, whose catch phrase is 'You will like me, I am warm', has also promised to show off his 'cockle shell bay'. And, having seen his outrageous appearance on the Jonathan Ross show, we don't doubt it!

Big Bro producers are sure to be gutted that the motor-mouthed superfan has given the game away. However, true to form, Avid has a worrying plan if they scrap his appearance: "I will burn the house down", he said matter-of-factly, before concluding, "That will teach them to mess with me."

And with that, our reporter ran away. Fast!

Come on you Channel 4 bods, get Avid in the house. You know it makes (no) sense! We can't wait...
