You've Applied For BB4... What Happens Next?

So, you've applied for Big Brother 4 and you want to know what happens next? Okay, forget all the speculation and read on...

Applications have now closed and the producers are working their way through a mound of video tapes.

Despite rumours to the contrary, the audition procedure will be much the same as last year: they won't start contacting people until most, if not all, of the video tapes have been viewed.

Rather sadly, we noticed people boasting last week that they'd already attended an audition. However, we were assured by the producers just days after applications closed that no-one had even been contacted yet.

Rather, the first phase of auditions will take place in February, so people will start hearing from Endemol over the next few weeks.

One question many applicants will doubtless be asking themselves is this: "How long should I leave it before giving-up hope of getting into the house?"

By rights, you shouldn't resign yourself to merely watching the show until the new series actually starts. Realistically though, if you were to allow around 10 weeks from the closing date, we feel that all potential auditionees will have been contacted by then.

Some friendly advice from BBO: if you don't hear back, PLEASE just accept that you have not been successful this year.

We say that every year, yet some people still cannot accept that they've either fallen at the first hurdle (the auditions) or didn't even get to start the race!

Granted, it must be incredibly disappointing to be knocked back when you think you're God's Gift to Big Brother, but the inevitable begging letters or abusive e-mails are lame to say the least.

So, stuff like, "Pick me. Big Brother reeeally needs me, as I am totally crazy!", or, "They should get my mate in the house, she is incredibly funny", or, "Okay
don't accept me then. Big Brother can stuff it up it's <censored>...",
are somewhat amusing (nay, laughable), but pointless.
